Games to Bring to Pass the Time While Traveling on a Train
Traveling on a train is exciting and fun for the first hour or so while you board and get settled into your seat or cabin. A little while after you are on the move, the scenery starts to repeat itself and you start to get bored. Fortunately, there are games made specifically to keep you entertained while you are traveling on a train. The more convenient games for travel are the small board games with pieces that are not easily lost such as magnetic or peg board games, but you can find almost any full size game in a miniature travel size version at any local retail store.
Peg board games
Games that use pegs are convenient for travel because the boards are compact and easily fit in your lap. Cracker Barrel made a version of a triangle peg game in which the user must jump pegs to eliminate all but one. These types of games are challenging and fun to play wherever you are, but they are really great to pass the time while you are traveling.
Magnetic board games
Magnetic games work well during travel because the pieces stick to the board so you do not have to worry about losing them. You can even find all of your favorite board games such as Backgammon, Chess and Monopoly with magnetic pieces.
If you are traveling with a companion or a group, games such as Scrabble, board Tic-Tac-Toe and Checkers are good ideas to take along for your trip. Since they are small, you can take several with you on your adventure. These games have more than enough entertainment value to keep you and your companions busy for hours.
